Toyotomi

A world, currently nearing the turn of the 20th century, with a Japanese Empire as extensive as the British Empire was in our history. The point of divergence begins with the death of Yi Sunsin under torture in 1597, and thus his absence at the Battle of Myeongnyang. The resulting Japanese victory in the Imjin War encouraged the Council of Five Elders to continue with Hideyoshi Toyotomi’s expansionist ambitions. Japan eventually colonized Australia and western North America, dominated India and a large chunk of Africa.
